PVC (plastisol) liquid coatings are applied externally on electrical fittings; for standardisation the colour is grey. Hot-dip galvanized posts and accessories are sweep-blasted for good adhesion between the substrate and the coating, and a primer is applied before the final liquid coat. The coating is typically 1000 microns thick.
